  1-Q  WHAT AGE GROUP CAN GO FOR THIS YATRA?
  A:  Generally 18 to 70. Exceptions are possible.
   
  2-Q  WHY CAN'T MY 5 YEAR OLD GO?
  A: Because the air is very thin in the entire region, also their physical condition is not ready to face all the challenges that arise at high altitude. Hence, it is not recommended for under age to perform this yatra.
   
  3-Q I AM A HEART PATIENT BUT HAVE HAD NO TROUBLE FOR THE PAST TWO TO THREE YEARS, CAN 1 GO?
  A: Yes, if your Stress Test is negative then you can go. However your Cardiologist’s consent even after a negative test is very important.
   
  4-Q  IN TOTAL, HOW MANY DAYS JOURNEY IS IT AND HOW MANY KMS OF TRAVELING IS INVOLVED?
  A: From Kathmandu and back to Kathmandu it takes about 15 days and 1930kms.
   
  5-Q  IS THERE ANY WALKING INVOLVED?
  A: Yes, 52kms. parikrma of Kailas, besides this if there are any landslides on the way from and to Kathmandu than one may have to walk for two to five kms at the most.
   
  6-Q WHAT MADICAL PRECAUSIONS HAVE TO BE TAKEN?
  A: Please see our section on ‘medical and first aid kit’. Besides please keep personal first aid kit as per your requirement.

  8-Q HOW MUCH LUGGAGE SHOULD WE CARRY?
  A:Luggage should be kept at minimum (see our section on what to carry for details].
   
  9-Q ARE THERE ANY EXERSICES WHICH SHOULD BE STARTED BEFORE THE JOURNEY?
  A: You should start with all the exercises that help in building your stamina like: walking, jogging, deep breathing, refrain from smoking and keep away from alcoholic beverages.
   
  10-Q HOW COLD IT IS?
  A: During the months of June & July, the temperature ranges between 3 to 7 degrees Celsius during early morning and night. During the months of May & August, the temperatures can go down to below 1 degree Celsius. However during the day, temperatures vary from 10 to 18 degrees Celsius.
   
  11-Q CAN BRANDY BE TAKEN IN CASE OF EXTREME COLD?
  A: Brandy can be taken as medicine only, in case of dire emergency. It should not be taken for pleasure or as a sedative.
   
  12-Q WHAT TYPE OF JEEP IS PROVIDED FOR TRANSPOTATION?
  A: The jeeps are Japanese make, latest model Toyota Land cruisers with four wheel drive and are very spacious. There are different models available in the market. We make sure to use latest Model which is Toyota Land cruiser 4500.
   
  13-Q HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SIT IN ONE JEEP?
  A: Four yatris and a driver can sit very comfortably
   
  14-Q WHAT ARE THE SICKNESSES ONE SUFFER FROM ENROUTE?
  A: Some sickness, such as Acute Mountain Sickness, High altitude Cerebral Edema and High altitude Pulmonary Edema is caused by high altitude and ultraviolet rays. Also, Dysentery, Dehydration and Cold are experienced in Tibet.
   
  15-Q IS OXYGEN PROVIDED THROUGHOUT THE JOURNEY?
  A: Oxygen cylinders are kept with the Sherpa in case of emergencies only. However oxygen intake should be avoided as much as possible because of possibility of being dependent on it for rest of yatra.
   
  16-Q HOW MUCH TIME AND KMS DOES IT TAKE FOR KAILAS PARIKRMA?
  A: Kailas Parikrma is 52kms. from Darchen (base camp of Kailas) to Darchen. However it can be reduced by 13kms as jeep can go for the first 6kms from Darchen and can come up to 7kms. on return. It will take two and half days to perform 52kms. Kailas parikrma.
   
  17-Q HOW MUCH TIME AND KMS. DOES IT TAKE TO FOR MANSAROVAR PARIKRMA?
  A: Mansarovar is totally 102kms and we do this parikrma by drive.
   
  18-Q DO WE GET YAK OR A HORSE DURING THE PARIKRMA?
  A: One should take yak or horse whatever is available for case of emergency or to use if too tired. Yaks and horses are available for parikrma at the base camp of Kailash.
   
  19-Q IT IS NECESSARY TO TAKE A HORSE OR YAK DURING THE PARIKRMA?
  A: Yes, we do recommend hiring a horse or yak for the parikrma in case of emergency. It will make the yatra bit easy while crossing 5650 meters high Dolmala Pass.
   
  20-Q ARE THERE ANY IN BETWEEN EXPENSES?
  A: Yes, for buying mineral water, some juices, hiring yak/horse, porter and phone calls.
   
  21-Q TELL ABOUT CURRENCY?
  A: Currency in Nepal is Nepalese rupees & Indian rupees. In Tibet, it is Yuan. Your currency can be changed in Kathmandu to Nepalese rupees. You can change Yuan at the Nepal Tibet boarder.
   
  22-Q HOW MUCH CURRENCY SHOULD BE TAKEN ALONG WITH?
  A: In Tibet, around 2000 Yuan should be enough. This would be approximately Indian Rs. 13,000. Please allow USD 400 or equivalent.
   
  23-Q WHAT ARE THE DO'S AND DON'TS?
  A: Our Guide will give proper information whenever it is needed during the journey. Also our Leader will brief you on your arrival in Kathmandu.
   
  24-Q ARE THERE HOTELS AVAILABLE ON THE WAY?
  A: Yes, there are very basic guest houses available everywhere in Tibet but if the climate is not windy and cool then it is advisable to stay in tents as there are problems of toilet facilities everywhere in Tibet.
   
  25-Q ARE TELEPHONES OR ANY OTHER SORT OF COMMUNICATION AVAILABLE ON THE YATRA?
  A: Yes, telephone service is available almost in every small village and also mobile connectivity.
   
  26-Q WHAT IF A PERSON FALLS VERY SICK IN BETWEEN AND WANTS TO DISCONTINUE JOURNEY?
  A: We will evacuate immediately to the nearest hospital and lower altitude where sick person will be safe and out of life threatening situation. This itself is a very difficult task, a single jeep has to be returned with the sick person with our staff or we could arrange air lifting by helicopter from the nearest Nepal-Tibet boarder.
   
  27-Q IS IT POSSIBLE TO GO BY HELICOPTER TO KAILAS MANSAROVAR?
  A: Yes, it is possible in May and June. Helicopter will fly to Nepal Tibet boarder, place called Hilsa and then there is a drive of 200kms to the lake Mansarovar and 250kms to the base camp of Kailas.
